Step by Step

Capilano Suspension Bridge Park is one of Vancouver’s most iconic attractions, offering visitors a perfect blend of adventure, history and natural beauty. Upon entering the park, you’ll be greeted by a lush setting of temperate forests and the soothing sound of the Capilano River flowing below.

The main attraction, the suspension bridge, challenges you to cross its 137-metre length whilst it sways gently 70 metres above the canyon, offering unrivalled panoramic views.

As well as the bridge, the park features the Cliffwalk, a series of suspended walkways that follow the cliff face, allowing you to explore previously inaccessible areas and offering a unique perspective on the canyon’s ecosystem.

For those interested in life at height, the Tree-top Adventure consists of seven suspended walkways attached to centuries-old trees, rising more than 30 metres above the forest floor. This activity is ideal for families and for those wishing to learn more about the forest’s ecology.

The park also offers 10-minute educational talks on the history and nature of the region, enriching your visit with insights into the flora, fauna and cultural significance of the area.

Throughout the year, seasonal events take place that transform the park, such as Canyon Lights in winter, when thousands of lights illuminate the bridge and the surrounding area, creating a magical atmosphere.

Perhaps watching the experience on video beforehand helps: crossing the bridge gives you a feeling of controlled vertigo.
