Step by Step
The Cité de l’Espace is one of those places where science becomes much more tangible. Across more than 4,000 m² of exhibitions and several hectares of gardens, you can explore the history of space exploration through artefacts, life-size replicas and interactive experiences.
Outside, some of the site’s greatest icons await you, such as the Ariane 5 rocket, the Mir space station and the Apollo lunar module. Seeing them at full scale helps you better understand the scale and complexity of space missions.
The tour also explores the exploration of Mars. On the Martian terrain, you’ll find replicas of rovers such as Perseverance, Zhurong and Ingenuity, as well as explanations of how they move, communicate and operate in extreme conditions.
One of the most striking experiences is LuneXplorer, an immersive simulation lasting around 40 minutes that recreates a mission to the Moon, from launch to moon landing. You can also attend screenings at the IMAX and sessions at the planetariums.
If you’re travelling with children, Cité des Petits offers a hands-on area for children aged 4 and over, featuring activities related to rockets, spacecraft and astronauts. Scientific demonstrations and talks are also organised throughout the day.
