No matter what time of the year you decide to visit this island, activities in Mallorca are always just a click away. Today I present you with a detailed compilation of specific events and excursions for the summer in Mallorca. If you want to have a super exciting holiday, try to integrate as many of them as your itinerary allows.

1. Attend the Summer Concerts in Port Adriano.

Considered one of the liveliest places in Mallorca, Port Adriano hosts many important events throughout the year. The summer concert season in Port Adriano starts on July 31st and lasts for several weeks.

Although concerts and celebrations are an important motivation, you should consider a visit to Port Adriano a worthwhile activity in itself. Designed by the talented international architect Philippe Starck, it has a sleek, modern aesthetic complemented by perfect views of the Mediterranean Sea.

Where it takes place

The marina of Port Adriano is located about 23 km from Palma de Mallorca. The best way to get there is by private vehicle, a journey time of just 30 minutes along the Ma-1 road.

Tickets can be purchased from ticket websites such as Mallorca Tickets. The cheapest tickets are usually around 25€ - 30€ per participant.

2. The Sunset Market is held in Puerto Portals.

The Sunset Market is a summer event in Mallorca that you should not miss. It is held every Wednesday and Thursday over several weeks in July and August.

The party usually starts at 18h to enjoy the summer sunset over the waters of the Mediterranean. The programme includes all kinds of fun activities designed for the whole family, including food stalls, a children's play area**, face painting for children** and a stage with live music.

If you're heading to Mallorca with kids for the holidays, an afternoon of fun at the Sunset Market should be on your itinerary.

Where it takes place

The event takes place in the Portals Marina, 11.6 km from Palma de Mallorca. The journey by car only takes 20 minutes or you can take bus no. 104 or 105 to Marineland at Palma Intermodal Station.

Tickets are not necessary, the event is free for all visitors.

3. MLF Summer Edition: The best festival in Mallorca.

One of the most eagerly awaited concerts by Mallorcans is the Mallorca Live Festival. The first edition was held in 2016 with an eclectic festival proposal that brings together artists from different musical genres from leading figures of Pop, rock and electronica.

The event lasts 3 days. In past editions the Calviá stage has seen the likes of Muse, The Prodigy, C. Tangana, Franz Ferdinand, Cristina Aguilera and Jamiroquai.

The concerts usually start at 6 pm and go on until the early hours of the morning, making it one of the best thingsto do in Mallorca at night.

In recent years the Mallorca Live Festival has changed location to use the facilities of the Aquapark in Calviá. Calviá is a municipality located 16km from the centre of Palma. You can get there by private vehicle or by using the Mallorca public bus service.

Tickets for the Mallorca Live Festival can be purchased directly from the event's website. They are available for around 65€ per participant.

4. Book a day trip to the Caves of Drach.

A trip to the Caves of Drach from Mallorca is the best way to cool off in the hot summer. Considered one of the best tours in Mallorca, a visit to the caves is a must for every tourist visiting the island for the first time.

The place is famous for being home to one of the largest underground lakes in the world, known as Lake Martel. On your excursion you will descend some 25 metres below the surface to find a truly impressive archaeological structure.

Being one of the most popular excursions in Mallorca and one of the island's main tourist attractions, I recommend booking your place days or weeks before your trip to ensure availability for the day and date you choose.

5. Enjoy chamber music in Deià Mallorca.

The Deià Mallorca International Festival is a traditional event created in 1978 entirely dedicated to chamber music. If you are interested in classical music and are looking to add variety to your holiday plans, an evening of good music in Mallorca may be the perfect choice for you.

The calendar of performances spans about 4 or 5 weeks. It usually starts in the last weeks of June and runs until the end of September. Even if you make a short trip, 5 days in Mallorca or less, you may find room for at least one of the concerts.

The organisers aim to offer variety in the concerts, which is why there are many local talents on stage as well as leading international artists of various styles.

Where it takes place

The event takes place in the beautiful coastal town of Deià, located northwest of the city of Palma. The best way to get there is by private car.

6. The King's Cup is held in Mallorca in summer.

During the summer in Mallorca many sporting events are held that have fun at sea as a common point. Among them is the Copa del Rey, described as one of the biggest cruising regattas in the whole Mediterranean Sea.

This traditional competition is more than 40 years old and is one of the most eagerly awaited celebrations by Mallorcans. It is generally held during the first days of August. If you go to Mallorca in August, don't miss the celebration.

The iconic regatta includes many national participants, but it also attracts numerous foreign participants who travel from all corners of the world in search of the title.

A must-do summer plan that you can't miss during your holidays is an excursion to explore the beaches of Mallorca. With a total of 262 beaches along the coast, you are sure to find one that meets your expectations.

  • Playa de Formentor: Located on the peninsula of the same name, in this place, apart from enjoying the sea, you will enjoy fabulous views of the bay of Pollensa. Don't forget your camera!
  • Cala Santanyi: In the southeast area of the island you will find Cala Santanyi, one of the most beautiful beaches you can find. The place offers numerous amenities, such as the possibility of renting sunbeds or renting equipment for numerous water sports like kayaking or paddle boarding.

On the island you will find several local companies offering this type of experience, in an adventure that many describe as the best experience of their lives.

The balloon basket rises 500 metres above the ground. At this height it is even possible to see nearby islands such as Menorca and Cabrera. At all times you will be accompanied by an expert pilot.

10. The Reggaeton Beach Festival stops in Mallorca every summer.

If dancing and catchy Latin rhythms are your thing, you can't miss a festival that has gained enormous popularity in recent years: the Reggaeton Beach Festival. In addition to live performances by artists, you'll find pool parties, urban dance classes and various food stalls.

The Reggaeton Beach Festival tours different cities in Europe and comes to Mallorca in mid-July with two days of partying. It has been rated by many as one of the most anticipated events of the summer, so if you're heading to Mallorca in July, try to make room for this epic party.

The performance schedule changes year on year and new guest artists join the celebration. For details of the programme, it's best to visit the event's official website a few weeks before your trip.

Where it takes place

For years the event has been held at the Polideportivo Municipal de Inca. To get to this part of the island you can take bus 301 or 302 from Palma station, a journey that takes about 30 minutes to complete.

The best option is to buy tickets in advance directly from the official RBF website, tickets usually cost between 60€ and 200€.

Part of Mallorca's fame as a tourist destination comes from its pleasant year-round climate, which allows for outdoor activities almost every day.

In summer, temperatures tend to rise quite high and invite you to spend long hours on the beach. Quite often it is above 30 degrees Celsius, while the evenings invite you to go out because of the mild weather.
