More about: The 10 Best Theme Parks and Attractions in Tenerife
Among the best things to do in Tenerife, you should definitely include a visit to an amusement park. Many of them have rollercoasters, towering slides, fun jungle-themed areas and much more. Each park has a different theme that you’re sure to love.
Whilst some parks transport you to a jungle teeming with animals or to water-based adventures, others are more laid-back. In Tenerife, you’ll find simple parks with slides, little trains and bumper cars. These are ideal for parents to relax in a restaurant whilst the children have fun. In Tenerife, you’ll find all kinds of parks!
1. Siam Park
Siam Park is the most famous park in Gran Canaria. It is located on the Costa de Adeje in Tenerife. Its theme is inspired by Thai architecture and it has set several world records thanks to its artificial wave. This attraction reaches a height of four metres.
This park is so famous that it is known for its rollercoaster and is even said to be the best water park in the world. You can visit it at any time of year. Bear in mind that during the summer it is open from 10 am to 6 pm.
In this park you’ll find around 15 water attractions that will get your adrenaline pumping. One of them is the Tower of Power, a slide around 28 metres high. When you launch yourself down this slide, you’ll pass through an aquarium full of sharks and manta rays. Fancy a go?
You can also try the Jungle Snake, Coco Beach, Bodhi Trail, Mai Thai River and other incredible attractions. The average cost of admission to this theme park is around €30. If you’re looking for an adrenaline rush at this park, try the Tsunami, a 21-metre-high ride with a 180-metre course. Another similar attraction is Ciclones, very much like the Tsunami but featuring 360-degree spins with light effects: it’s mind-blowing! In total, there are nine extreme rides generally recommended for children over 10 and adults.
The little ones can have fun in the Kidzworld area. There you’ll find Pirate Harbour, full of slides, hideaways, tunnels and much more. Meanwhile, in Mega Adventureland, they can enjoy slightly larger slides that are just right for their size. Finally, they can use the Kids Pool, a safe and calm pool, which also has slides.
If you’re interested in dolphins, you can visit a special area where you can interact with them. You’ll be accompanied at all times by specialised guides and instructors. If you’d like to see them in their natural habitat, I recommend taking a dolphin and whale watching tour in Tenerife.

You can also watch a show featuring six orcas that live in the park – isn’t that amazing? Elsewhere in the park, you’ll find lions, gorillas, jaguars and tigers.

Through modern technology and ancient Chinese traditions, each of these creatures tells a legend from Chinese culture. Among the shows you’ll see, the highlight is the polar bear and panda bear playing with the little ones amidst soap bubbles. As well as the illuminated attractions, you can sample Chinese cuisine at the Jardín del Dragón restaurant.
Although many of the things you’ll see here are exhibitions, this park also has attractions that children will love. The Viking ship and the train are fully illuminated and packed with thrills. Each ride costs around €2.

Many of these elements are linked to the Gesta, such as the English ship HMS Theseus and the Fox cutter. You’ll also find a 15-metre zip line and a trampoline. The park can accommodate up to 500 children.

10. Monkey Park
Monkey Park is a zoo where you’ll find many monkeys of different species. The main attraction of this park is that you can go in and stroke the lemurs and marmosets. Children love interacting with these curious little creatures.
Inside the park, you’ll find several petting areas where you can touch the smaller, non-dangerous monkeys. My advice is not to try to pick them up or stroke them, as they generally don’t like this. If you simply go in and watch them or chat for a while, they’ll gradually come closer to you – and soon they’ll be climbing onto your shoulder!
For more interaction with the monkeys, you can offer them food. Never give them bread or biscuits! In the park, you’ll find boxes containing vegetables specially prepared for these animals. Bear in mind that looking after their diet is vital for their health. What’s more, if you give them something they like, they’ll surely come running towards you.
You can visit this park at any time of year. Tickets cost an average of €10 and opening hours are from 9.30 am to 4 pm. You’re sure to have a pleasant and peaceful time here, interacting with and learning about nature and the animal kingdom.
