Step by Step

This tour of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island brings you to two key sites for understanding the history of New York and the United States. After meeting at Battery Park, you’ll board the ferry with reserved access to Liberty Island, from where you can see the Statue of Liberty up close and enjoy magnificent views of the Manhattan skyline.

On Liberty Island, you’ll learn about the monument’s origins, its arrival in New York and the significance it has come to hold as an international symbol of freedom. The tour includes entry to the Statue of Liberty Museum, where you can delve deeper into its design, construction and history. Access to the pedestal and the crown is not included in this tour.

You’ll then continue by ferry to Ellis Island, through which millions of immigrants passed between the late 19th and early 20th centuries in search of a new life. There, you can visit the National Museum of Immigration and discover the stories, hardships and hopes of those who arrived in the United States via this island.

Depending on the option you’ve chosen, you’ll take the tour accompanied by a professional guide, using an interactive audio guide on your mobile, or a combination of both. Due to site regulations, the guide may not be able to accompany you into certain areas of the museums, but they’ll provide you with the necessary background information beforehand so that you can explore them on your own.

The group was a bit large, which made it difficult to hear at times.
