Step by Step

The tour begins in Manhattan and heads towards Harlem, one of New York’s neighbourhoods with the strongest cultural identity. Along the way, you’ll learn about its history and pass by historic sites such as the Apollo Theatre, a venue associated with artists such as Ella Fitzgerald, The Jackson 5 and Marvin Gaye.

The next stop will be the Bronx, where you’ll be able to see the exterior of Yankee Stadium, home to the New York Yankees, and discover the borough’s connection to the birth of hip hop. You’ll also wander through some of its streets to admire examples of street art and experience a side of New York off the beaten track.

You’ll then head over to Queens, one of the most multicultural boroughs in the United States. You’ll pass through the upmarket residential area of Malba and visit Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, home to the Unisphere, the US Open grounds and the New York Mets’ stadium. The tour continues through Brooklyn to explore areas such as Williamsburg and Crown Heights, characterised by the coexistence of traditional communities and new residents.

When booking, you can choose the option without Coney Island, which ends in the DUMBO area, or complete the experience with a visit to Coney Island, available from April to November. If you choose this option and conditions allow, you’ll have time to stroll along the promenade, explore this historic leisure destination and enjoy a meal at your own expense at establishments such as the famous Nathan’s.

This was a great tour, well worth the price you pay for the ticket. We saw areas of some districts we hadn't seen before, and our wonderful guide knew a lot about all the places we visited.

Very good tour, excellent guide and driver. Indispensable to get into very different and distant neighbourhoods where I would not learn so much on my own.
